History
The history of KPMG in the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba begins in 1952 when Mr. Van Driel started the first office abroad of the Dutch firm Klynveld Kraayenhof & Co.; namely on Curaçao. In 1969 Mr. Sandy Smith, a young Scottish accountant who had transferred to the Peat Marwick office in Caracas, received the green light to open Peat Marwick on Curaçao. On January 1, 1988 Klynveld Kraayenhof & Co. merged with Peat Marwick and Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG) became a local office. Currently, with offices on Curaçao, Aruba and St. Martin and over 190 staff members, KPMG is one of the leading providers of audit, tax and advisory services within the Dutch Caribbean.
